Stove Rope Sizes: How to Choose the Right Diameter
The right stove rope size is the size that matches your appliance’s door channel and original seal specification. Stove rope is normally described by diameter, but selecting a replacement should involve more than choosing the thickest rope available.
What “stove rope size” means
Most replacement door seals are measured by the diameter of the rope’s cross-section, usually in millimetres. The correct size must sit in the rope channel and allow the door to close evenly. The manufacturer’s manual and the original seal are the best starting points.
Start with your stove make and model

Measure the old seal and the door channel
